Mother Nature has a firm grip on us.
As a final note, not only do I have to remain indoors due to the smoke but as a double whammy we are quarantined again. I don’t mind the masks, the vaccines or keeping distance from others but I am having a hard time staying indoors. That’s all the words I have left to say on that.

The More Things Change.
I saw plans for development on the far side of the overpass, actually I saw a sign on Facebook, a Super-Market is planned one mile from the border. It will be good to have a regular grocery within a reasonable distance. The developments sting my soul but it is inevitable, it’s not a hill I would fight from.

A Good Day For Sparrows; And Misc. Critters.
We’ve got 6 new baby bunnies running around the one acre consisting of four joined lots. Six is a large number, it tells me that the environment is pretty good for them, there is plenty of food and a safe place to live. Another indicator is plenty of rain/water, during rainy winters the wildlife have more and healthier offspring.

Rabbits; Still or Again?
I have noticed several feral Cats roaming the area as well; I think it’s a good thing. I would imagine the Rabbits don’t share my opinion because small ones are fair play. Cats are not the only predators showing up in numbers lately many Hawks, large and small hunt them as well.

There’s always something going on around here; It’s been a bit Squirrelly lately.
I told the dog to come on home with me. Of course she ignored me until I said the magic sentence, “lets go have a biscuit.” I was surprised the dang old Squirrel didn’t come along, one day I’m expecting it.

A Busy Bird Morning.
A huge flock of Canadian Honkers flew overhead while I was on the lookout, they were however at a lofty height. I took a photo but it looks more like a swarm of Bees than a flock of Geese.

A Different Side.
I’m in the house until the smoke clears, again, on the few occasions I venture out a 3-M respirator is my choice of smoke protection. The paper masks are fine for the C-19 but smoke is a different concern, the PM-10 is a killer. Smoke allergies are more common than we realize and cause serious illness or on occasion death;

Four Wildfires within View of the Porch.
Wild fires are a fact of life during late summer in California. Four are easily seen from many locations East of the Diablo Range of Mountains. These are now under control, but many others throughout the State are raging out of control.
