Aim, Focus, and press the shutter; hours of practice pays off. I had originally taken 14 pictures

The Great Blue Heron; We lost someone today.
Most of the time they are right out there standing in clear view and they are not shy about it as their loud AWK! can wake any one. Even a nearly deaf old guy, it’s a great alarm for alerting me one is heading somewhere often towards me. However their smaller cousins the Green Herons make the exact same squawk; I cannot tell them apart.

Wildfire, Smoke and The Wind.
In other words it’s a report on how much smoke is in the air, advising people with health limitations to wear a mask and remain indoors. It sounds a lot like the Covid directives, not to be let down we are quarantined again for who knows how long. Tomorrow the air is suppose to be clear, however Thursday is predicted to be a nasty gram smoke day

Ground Squirrels; He has to Go.
No mammals like hot peppers, birds on the other hand don’t mind them. In fact I have heard (through the coconut telegraph) Parrots really like them. I plan on making a hot sauce and spreading it liberally on the feeders.

Light Breeze, Clear Sky.
The wind is forecasted to pick up a bit tonight, reportable reaching 40 mph. We’re no stranger to high winds but now we may be reaching towards much higher velocity. We are no strangers to 70mph plus.

Birds and Wildfire.
I suppose there is a silver lining if it can be called that, Arsonist are being arrested on a regular basis. It’s obvious to most people I’ve talked to, I’m assuming it’s a common thought most of the fires are started either intentionally or accidentally by humans. Now we’re waiting for the Government agencies that have been fighting these things for over one hundred years to solve the problem. Anyone see a problem with that?

Seagulls the only game in town; except the Wildfires.
However an Arsonist has been arrested, a college professor that has started donzens of them. It doesn’t surprise me most fires are Arson started, it’s kind of a best known secret the Insurance Companies keep close to their vest. The report says the maximum sentence is 5 years and a fine, whoopee do

Young Squirrels and Geese.
A few years back I found a. young fledging Barn Owl that had hit a utility pole in a similar velocity wind. At any rate it appears they will not be migrating back to their summer grounds which I assume is in or near Canada.

Was That Rain?
The bird hunts for 5 years then his human partner releases him into the wild. It makes me wonder if the Cormorant fishermen do something of the same order. Another research project, I’ll start right after I finish reading the pile of books I received for my birthday. I am able to read a book and listen to an Audio book at the same time, it’s easy, however I am unable to remember either one of them when I’m finished.

It’ a Nice Day to Chase a Rabbit and Various Other Little Animals; Skunks Don’t Run Away.
If she ever gets tangled up with an Otter, Raccoon or Skunk, well the Pole Cat is different that’s where she got her name from. She could not leave them alone, I assume it’s because Skunks don’t run away, they don’t have to.
