Finally a Barn Owl.
He’s a bit of an eccentric showing himself fairly regularly during the daylight hours. I have seen him under the eaves of the house remaining there for most of a day. I chased him along the levee thinking I caught up to him perching under the roof of a dock.

Attempted Scams; I may be Old but I’m not Stupid.
For internet scammers being an older person somehow translates as being stupid. It’s not often the case and when we are confronted with it we need to set them straight. It’s not hard to out think them, they are smart but also arrogant and that is their down fall.

Early Morning on The Slough.
The morning shadows did not last long but they will be back tomorrow as long as the Sun Shines. Tonight at dusk the show will start again with the shadows in the opposite direction, the wind will be stronger, and the critters will begin to come out for the night.

Big Mikes Lot Was and Is.
Good people have bought Mikes house, they were friends of his. A giant eucalyptus tree that was leaning over the river was cut down, several of us were concerned about it. Hanging over the slough the danger was it toppling over into the water then floating to the bridge and wiping it out. Good has been done, Jacques will just have to get over it and move along.

Summer in the Western States; A Hat goes A Long Way Keeping a Head from Sunburn.
I learned a lesson many years ago when I first moved to Sun filled California. I suffered a bad sun burn on my follicle challenged head. I have since never spent longer than a few minutes without a hat in the harsh Western Sunshine.

The Starlings were Active this Morning during the Golden Hour.
I have not witnessed Starlings displaying this behavior, it’s more common among Crows. Perhaps it’s a common practice among all birds I just haven’t seen it until today.

Crazy Doves in the Pecan Tree.
The Doves seem to be engaged in some sort of hide and seek game all day long. When one shows up it’s not long after when the mate joins the fun.

I Spoke Too Soon Yesterday; We Had A Wildfire Today.
In Yesterday’s blog I wrote how the conditions were a bit damp for a wildfire. Apparently I’m no Expert at anything but guessing, we had a wildfire today 4 miles South of where I predicted it would not happen.
