Although it's October the wheel continues to spin under the big blue bowl, I will be happy when this month is over as much as I don't want to wish my life away. I'll go a step further, I'll be ecstatic when 2020 is run out on a rail January 1st, keep the faith things are going to get better.
The little guy is most likely a Steer, he may have been looking at that Bull across the pasture dreaming of what may have been. While the Cows see him as well; most likely saying to one another "I sure hope he doesn't come over here."
These activities take place on the Delta in the thousands yearly, perhaps millions of times. I captured a flock of high flying Canadian Honkers going overhead. That picture (I mentioned it in an earlier blog) looks as if it's a flock of Bees flying way up there; I kept it anyway, that's just the way I am.
I bought a Samsung computer, I thought it stood to reason that because she's on her cell phone all of the time it would be good to have all her stuff on both of them. I told her we'll be able to push a few buttons and the thing will be set up.
I'm in the house until the smoke clears, again, on the few occasions I venture out a 3-M respirator is my choice of smoke protection. The paper masks are fine for the C-19 but smoke is a different concern, the PM-10 is a killer. Smoke allergies are more common than we realize and cause serious illness or on occasion death;
Everyone in the family with the exception of the mid-northerners and New Yorkers are dealing with heavy smoke. Even Colorado, my daughter is socked in by the 3rd largest wildfire in Colorado history. If we're not careful this could get serious real quick.
Early morning brought a nice change, the sky was clear; visibility was over 16 miles. The heavy dew and fog helped bring the fires under control. We can't celebrate yet as the fire season has just begun.
The smoke is beginning to clear, I am able to venture into the great outdoors once again to work in the garden, and take photos.
A few precautions should not deter anyone's interest in the ecologically positive activity, my opinion is everyone should have at least one Colony. With a minimum of protection Vermiculture is safe, each of us develops during the learning curve the level we need to remain safe. Starting small assisted with research a size-able Colony can be realized within the first year.
I wrote this post April 2020, after a revision it has been posted again. Due to the wild fire smoke I cannot go out of the house until it clears up.
