Ospreys.
The colors are off for it to be a Peregrine Falcon or Osprey, it appears more on the Kite side of the road; I’m just not sure at all. Those large eyes are a key feature of it’s appearance. I watched a video of a bird matching this one fighting a Bobcat, unfortunately the video taker did not ID the bird.a

It’s Wild Fire Time Again; It’s Smoky.
We live in a dynamic environment on a normal day but when the wind blows, the temperature is over 95ยบ F. and it has not rained for a few months it is much more dynamic almost dangerous.

Hummingbirds; Tough Little Guys.
Blue is the color of the California Sky during the Summer, it’s not a bad color however it is viewed as the least desirable background for photographs. I don’t know how it affects contest entries; most of my backgrounds are blue.

The Seagulls are absent but the Pictures aren’t.
I give a sigh of relief each time I see a bird successfully navigate and land on the post. It’s impressive to me when the SeaGull lands they strike this pose nearly every time. It may have more to do with balance and landing than anything else but it remains impressive.

Two Broods of Mallards; Floods and Wild Fires/
Hopefully some of the new Mallards will return to our slough and make it their seasonal nesting grounds. The Canadians have done so as the the Great White Bellied Geese have; they have returned now for the last 5 years. This is a safe nesting area for them, the closest hunting is a few miles away.

Flag Day June 14, 2022; Comparing my 20 year old Camera to a new one.
And today is Flag Day, for several years I did not fly the Flag. I am a 115% disabled service connected Vietnam Vet. I fought the Veterans Administration for 15 Years, the day I won my case (who says only fools defend themselves?) I put up the Flag and haven’t stopped flying it.

Little Birds Un-named.
Small birds are a challenge to take images of whether perching or flying. When perching they usually don’t stay long, flying is a horse of a differnt color.
