The Smallest Heron is Green.
Green Herons are always around if they are not in sight at any given time if we wait for a short while one is bound to fly past. They are not fair weather friends these guys are out in all weather; rain, wind or cold is not a deterrent for them.

Camera Settings Experiment; again.
I will use f-9 sparingly until I come up with a situation where I am able to use it in the natural flow of photography; I expect to use it in low light situations during my next experiment.

Wind, Rain and A Great White Egret
I didn’t say much else I remain curious because on my side 80 mile per winds erupt once or twice a year; mostly one event.

A Bit Of Rain; A Lot of Wind
To add on the list of good things the slight rain accomplishes is it will most likely hold the Wildfires off for a few weeks, less or more I can’t predict. More rain is expected Thursday hopefully dumping more snow in the Sierra Nevadas where the Fires are usually larger and more deadly. With this wind it may be extremely bad this year; not only in California but all of the States west of the 100th meridian.

Rural Urban Wildlife
My mindset is no matter how far I can wander around, which is 1/2 mile to the North and the same to the South, I am always able to find something to take a picture of. Will it be an award winner? Maybe not but there is always the possibility I’ll come across notable subject.

The Pig Duck
I’d like to say they are beautiful birds, they aren’t or well respected not that choice is available as well. Some Natives refer to them as “Junk Birds” which is odd because most have a high regard for all wildlife.

American Crow
I don’t compare Crows against Ravens, although they appear to be the same they are distinct and separate species with there own behavior patterns.

The Greater White Fronted Goose; Speckle Belly.
We or I will most likely not see them this spring with the goslins as they nest with the flock in a secure location on a high spot in a swamp. They are silent, beautiful birds and each year they grace us with their presence, hopefully for a long time.

Purple Headed Mallard
This was my intent while taking these photos, but it didn’t work out for me as the Purple Headed Goose has not approached near enough to sit for another session.

Strange Partners
That’s why no-one during pioneer times wore a “Coon Skin Hat”, the Great Horned Owls see them as a possible meal. It doesn’t turn out very good for the poor sap wearing the Raccoons outer furry coat.
