The Pig Duck
I’d like to say they are beautiful birds, they aren’t or well respected not that choice is available as well. Some Natives refer to them as “Junk Birds” which is odd because most have a high regard for all wildlife.

American Crow
I don’t compare Crows against Ravens, although they appear to be the same they are distinct and separate species with there own behavior patterns.

The Greater White Fronted Goose; Speckle Belly.
We or I will most likely not see them this spring with the goslins as they nest with the flock in a secure location on a high spot in a swamp. They are silent, beautiful birds and each year they grace us with their presence, hopefully for a long time.

Purple Headed Mallard
This was my intent while taking these photos, but it didn’t work out for me as the Purple Headed Goose has not approached near enough to sit for another session.

Strange Partners
That’s why no-one during pioneer times wore a “Coon Skin Hat”, the Great Horned Owls see them as a possible meal. It doesn’t turn out very good for the poor sap wearing the Raccoons outer furry coat.

It’s time to establish a pecking order.

Try and Fail; Bad words.
Even though the dastardly try and fail have gone on to live on in the back of someone else’s mind.

Somethings Happening Here.
That along with inventing names for the “other” group demonizes and subjects them to dehumanization making it easier for them to be thought of as “less than”. From the perspective of each side, indeed each person their side is “right”.

Gheesh Geese.
It’s convenient for them as they all fly off in the same direction but the Canadians are considerably larger in size than the Speckled Bellies. The attraction in the pasture besides lots of food is the shallow ponds populating the low spots. It’s been windy for 3 days making photographing birds in flight a bit easier, they are slowed way down.
